Hanas Speeds Up Prophase Work for Ningxia 5 MTPA LNG Hub Project

According to the strategic cooperation agreement between Hanas Group and the People’s Government of Wuzhong City and the project’s targeted construction starting date in 2018, the Planning and Development Department of Hanas Group has drafted a detailed preliminary action plan with deadlines for all steps of the project and people responsible for each step, to make sure all expected progresses for year 2017 be achieved.

By September 2017, Hanas completed the project’s preliminary consultation and investigation, construction condition verification, comparison and selection of construction location, as well as research and compiling of basic information. In October, after assessing several outstanding and professional designing institutions in China, Hanas finally appointed the Engineering Construction Co., Ltd. North China Branch of CNPC to carry out the project feasibility study report. The two parties jointly conducted the field exploration work immediately after the announcement of the key appointment.

The Hanas-built 5 MTPA LNG storage and distribution hub in Ningxia’s Yanchi County is a major project of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region during the “13th Five-Year Plan” (2016-2020). When completed, it will form a large-scale clean energy production base which radiates to an area with a radius of 1, 000 kilometers. By then, it will become the largest LNG supply center for LNG vehicles in the northwest China and even all China. An integral and key part of Hanas Group’s overall plan for developing clean energy in China, Ningxia 5 MTPA LNG hub will significantly increase the overall LNG consumption in Ningxia and neighboring provinces, expand the LNG consumption as fuel for automobiles, efficiently reduce the air pollution, and make important contributions to the environmental protection in the region.
